Omega-3 fatty acids’ supplementation in Parkinson’s disease: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials.

"In conclusion, a very small number of RCTs have currently addressed the effects of omega-3  fatty acids supplementation on patients with PD. All of them showed promising results regarding  disease progression, as assessed by the UPDRS scale, while certain beneficial effects were reported  for depression and markers of insulin resistance, inflammation, and oxidative stress. Further studies  are strongly recommended to elucidate the role of omega-3 fatty acids supplementation in the clinical  course of PD"
