Cardamom consumption may improve cardiovascular metabolic biomarkers in adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Highlights

  • "•

Cardamom consumption decreased total cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TG).

  • Cardamom improved high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6).

  • Cardamom reduced TC, TG, and IL-6 in interventions lasting > 8 weeks and in the non-diabetics.

  • The results suggest that cardamom may be beneficial to cardiovascular diseases."
